Stone dance and performing arts school Rooftop Studios has unveiled its most ambitious summer school workshops programme to date, with a series of musical theatre workshops set to take place over the course of four weeks.

Offering flexible childcare alongside the opportunity for youngsters to learn new skills, hone talent and build confidence – all whilst having bags of fun – the workshops will be led by the studio’s talented and dedicated team of industry professionals.

First up is a five-day workshop centered on the timeless classic ‘Hairspray’, running from Monday 30th July – Friday 3rd August. Over the course of the week, students aged 3 – 18 will learn the song 

and dance routines from the musical before a performance on a Friday to showcase all they’ve learned to family and friends.

The hit West End show Matilda, based on Roald Dahl’s magical tale of a little girl with special powers, will be the topic of the following week’s workshop. Running from Tuesday 7th – Thursday 9th  August, children will once again learn songs and dances from the show alongside taking part in a series of themed craft and creative activities. The following week, a workshop based on the box office smash The Greatest Showman will run from Tuesday 14th – Thursday 16th August followed by a workshop on The Lion King the musical running for 3 days from Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd August.

The workshops are suitable for ages 3 – 18 years and youngsters can book on anything from a single day through to entire three or five-day courses. The cost for the five-day Hairspray workshop is £90; for the 3-day workshops is £60 and single days are £25 each. Wraparound care is available too for parents who need to drop off early or pick up late.
